This Reason Why Farmers Need STDB
JAKARTA - Based on data from the Directorate General of Plantation, the area of oil palm plantations in Indonesia reached 14.03 million hectares, of which about 42% are plantations cultivated by small oil palm smallholders or farmers. With an area of less than 25 hectares, the existence of farmers has not been comprehensively identified in accordance with factual data, so it needs attention and guidance, among others through data consolidation and registration.
Seba it from pengelurusan InfoSAWIT, to obtain the data area of land cultivated by oil palm planters with an area of less than 25 hectares, then pursuant to Regulation of Minister of Agriculture No.98 / Permentan / OT.140 / 9/2013 dated 30 September 2013 about Guideline of Business License Plantations, in accordance with the provisions of Article 5, shall be registered by the Regent or Mayor.
For the record, the registration of the planters does not include business licensing activities, but the Bupati / Walikota or appointed officials, by registering businesses in their working areas. In accordance with the attachment I
Permentan concerned, the Regent / Mayor also has responsibility for knowing the status, level of productivity, land ownership, technical data of the garden and other important information, which can be obtained by registration of plantation business. 
The efforts of several local governments (Pemda), which have initiatives to consolidate data on oil palm plantations, can also be continued by registering them in accordance with existing regulations. Registration made, may refer to the attachment of this STD-B publishing guideline.
